KANE & Lynch 2: Dog Days has taken the top spot of the UK games charts, thus serving Toy Story 3 a big, steamy slice of second-place pie.

Red Dead Redemption is clinging on at third place, while LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 has reared its blocky head in fourth place in a return to the top five.

Ubisoft’s Just Dance is at fifth. At sixth place in the charts, Ninetendo’s Art Academy looks in through window of distinction at the warm, fire-lit drawing room of Merit and weeps.

Apart from Kane & Lynch: Dog Days there were no notable new entries to the top twenty, on account of this blistering summer dustbowl.
