LEGO Universe goes gold, trailers

LEGO UNIVERSE, the upcoming MMO “centered on an epic battle between creativity and chaos”, has gone gold and is being demonstrated at PAX.

The folk at LEGO Group have also released a bunch of trailers, ahead of the game’s North American launch on October 26.

The story will be familiar to MMO vets, and perhaps even to the 8-year-olds the game is marketed at. A dark force known as the Maelstrom seeks to destroy Imagination itself. Now, it’s bad enough when it’s land or oil or anything like that under threat. But abstract psychological concepts!? Well, them baddies just gone done went too far, says I. Luckily, the Nexus Force is on hand – and they need players to join the alliance against the baddies (natch).
