Podcast: Episode 3

It’s the Resolution Podcast!  Again!  This time, J.D. Richardson and Lewis Denby talk for bloody ages.  A particularly rambling one, we’re afraid.  Link to the podcast, along with contents, becomes visible when you click that “read more” button…

LISTEN!

00:00 – Hello!
00:20 – What J.D. Richardson’s been playing. Clue: it’s Geneforge 5.
11:28 – What Lewis Denby’s been playing. Clue: it’s Zeno Clash.
18:05 – Clue: it’s also The Godfather II.
19:55 – “Would you want to punch women in the face?” “Hell yeah!” Oh dear. It descends.
23:20 – The importance of scriptwriting and voice acting.
25:12 – Games’ potential for telling unique stories.
30:42 – The Nameless Mod for Deus Ex.
36:35 – New section on the site. And Vampy McGee Bloodlines.
38:00 – Comparing Bloodlines’ Ocean House Hotel with Thief’s Shalebridge Cradle.
47:40 – Invisibubble War – was it any good or not?
49:55 – Deus Ex 3: will they manage to get it right?
51:40 – BioShock 2: how’s that shaping up?
57:49 – Readers’ suggestions and comments. First: The Gameboy is 20!
59:01 – Talking about someone we know that no one else will, and Where’s Wally books. Great, enthralling radio.
59:25 – Back to the Gameboy. Sorry about that.
60:27 – Do you remember Gargoyle’s Quest?
60:48 – Women in gaming. Though we try to keep it intelligent and thoughtful, this does descend into boyish laughing at wobbly bits. Shit.
69:16 – Lewis does the worst impression of anyone or anything, ever. Conversation gradually shift to talking about characterisations in games, and to then a very neat wrap-up. Bye!

In my opinion this is the best one yet!

  • I think this was indeed the best one yet! Nice work – just a few small comments:

I played Gargoyle’s Quest on my mates Gameboy back in the day. I seem to recall it being pretty good..

The third Super Mario Bros. game isn’t Super Mario World, but Super Mario 3; the clue is in the name guys.

Please don’t say bad things about Ocarina of Time or Super Mario Bros and we’ll all get along just fine.

  • I’d like to replay Ocarina now. Last time I played it was about five years ago, and I still adored it. I wonder if it still stands up, though.

I still have my Gamecube copy of it. Just no Gamecube to play it on.

  • great stuff, has made me want to actually enter the present games-wise and play that vampire game you were talking about.

highlight for me was defiantely the ’shit men’.

  • It is the coolest site, keep so
