Resolution Podcast – 18/03/10

Oh, crikey, this one’s a bit rambly. Welcome back to the Resolution Podcast after a short break (sorry about that). You can tell it’s been a while since we’ve done one, since we go off on more tangents than we thought humanly possible. This time, if you choose to listen, you can await such wonders as:

- The curiously unmentioned absence of Resolution Robot.

- Lewis sounding thoroughly depressed for no good reason.

- Lewis overstating the amount of time he couldn’t walk after his injury (was actually about three months, not “four or five”).

- The introduction of a question, and subsequent forgetting all about it and moving on to a new topic.

- A heated argument over whether saying “Robert Kotick has a punchable face” is libellous.

- A suggestion that publishers slip us a fiver for a good review.

- Lewis having a coughing fit, before erronously claiming Magic Carpet 2 was released in 1994. And that Command and Conquer was released in 1996. In fact, why the blinking heck is he so obsessed with needlessly stating the release dates of every game mentioned?

- Two hysterically obvious splices where one of us nipped to the toilet.

- Utter nonsense about a distinctive art style of the 1990s, and a comparison between Doom and Command and Conquer which seemed to make sense when recording, but is absolute rubbish in retrospect.

- Terrible jokes.

- The suggestion that we’d like to have sex with a genre of fiction.

- A shouting match about BioWare games.

A preposterous claim that BioWare have been making games for 13 years, when they’ve actually been making them for 15.

- A disappointing audio quality.

- Cider.

- Lots of cider.

Kind of blew the identity of that supposedly secret indie game you were going to preview, eh?

Enjoyed the podcast, lads. Still pretty good considering your inebriated states. :)

  • I thought I’d edited out the bit where I revealed its identity…

It’s fine though – mentioning it isn’t embargoed, just covering it. I was just keen to avoid mentioning it too early, is all.
