Shank release date August 24, co-op trailer

CARTOONEY ACTION side-scroller Shank will be available for download from August 24, development studio Klei Entertainment announced today.

It will be released first for PSN, then the following day on Xbox Live Arcade.

Gamers fight waves of enemies as Shank in a stylistic 2D revenge story that looks ultra-stabby. There is a co-op mode that can be played locally that will give players an insight into the motives for his vengeful knife-art.

“We committed ourselves completely during the development of Shank and it’s been extremely gratifying to see the support we’ve received from the gaming community and press,” said Jamie Cheng, CEO of Klei Entertainment. ”Watching people play and seeing them smile; it’s fantastic to see them latch onto the things we love most about Shank — the art, the story and of course the gameplay.”

It’ll cost £9.99 on PSN and 1200 MS points on XBLA.
