Alan Walker and Asus ROG got together and created a limited edition of the popular Asus Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop, the G14 Alan Walker Special Edition. But what exactly is behind the cooperation and why is it possibly exactly right for you?
WHO IS ALAN WALKER?
If you are one of the few to whom the name Alan Walker means absolutely nothing, then we will bring you up to date here quickly. Alan Olav Walker is a 23-year-old DJ from Norway. He achieved international fame in 2015 with his single “Faded”, which everyone has heard at least once on the radio. This achieved platinum status in 14 countries.
In 2018 the DJ released his first studio debut album, Different World. It was not until 2020 that he was listed in DJ Mag in 26th place. Alan Walker is also a huge gaming fan . He especially enjoys playing games like WarZone and PubG. He’s even been animated as a playable in-game character! He has also given a concert in League of Legends.
So Alan is a real fan of gaming. So who could be better suited to design a special edition of the Zephyrus G14 together with Asus? Originally, the Alan Walker edition of the gaming laptop was only intended for Alan Walker himself, but when it became clear how popular it was, it was decided to make it available to the public as well.
A VISUAL EXPERIENCE
The limited Alan Walker Edition of the Zephyrus G14 is a visual experience in particular. Alan Walker himself is a big fan of the cyberpunk style and this is also reflected here. With precisely adjustable RGB lighting, which is compatible with all other RGB components via Aura Sync, the Alan Walker Edition stands out visually. With the various RGB lighting options, you can bring the party right into your living room. Whether at a small house party with friends or just for you, the special edition of the G14 is an eye-catcher.
The AnMi matrix on the back of the laptop also contributes to this visual orientation. The AnMi-Matrix is a series of small LEDs on the cover of the laptop. These can all be controlled directly and used to display user-defined content. The original idea behind the AnMi-Matrix was to give gamers an option to personalize their laptop without having to use stickers. The reason for this is that stickers are often either permanent or after a while, they no longer look good and have to be removed, which leaves behind annoying adhesive residues. With the AnMi-Matrix you have the possibility to select a new advertisement at any time. Whether this is text, a meme, or even gifs is entirely up to you.
Of course, Alan Walker has a hand in this too. So there are several unique AnMi-Matrix animations for the G14 Alan Walker Special Edition. Incidentally, these will also be available for owners of other models with AnMi-Matrix functionality!
The Special Edition also has a number of other details, such as the Alan Walker logo on the A and W keys and a logo when the laptop is started.
BECOME A DJ YOURSELF
Definitely, a highlight of the G14 Alan Walker Special Edition is the small DJ console that you get as part of the packaging. This may sound strange at first glance, but as soon as you see it, it is self-explanatory.
It is an acrylic plate, which serves as part of the packaging, but can also be connected separately to the laptop. If you plug them in, you can start with Alan Walker’s song “Sorry” to create your own remix. The desk is perfect for beginners.
It offers a total of 18 samples, which have their own video effects. But not only that, besides “Sorry” you can of course remix and change any other song of your choice. Of course, this is more of a gimmick than an actual DJ booth as you would see it in real life, but it can be a nice starting point, especially for beginners. Who knows, maybe this is where a passion begins.

Since performance isn’t the primary focus of the G14 Alan Walker Special Edition, we’re not going to list and disassemble exact dates here. However, the G14 is Asus ROG’s top-of-the-line model and their best-selling laptop for a reason. This is definitely a high-end machine that will please both casual and competitive gamers.
With a built-in R9 Ryzen 5900Hs and an RTX 3060 from Nvidia, this special edition is definitely a very good laptop. It also has 16 GB of RAM and a fast 1 TB SSD, which should be sufficient for most gamers. In addition, the laptop only weighs around 1.6 kg and is therefore definitely on the light side. This is especially useful for those who like to take their laptop with them to friends or when traveling.
This configuration of the G14 Zephyrus is available without a special edition for around 200 euros less from Asus. If you now consider all the additional features and the fact that this is a special edition, then this price difference is quite justified and very small compared to other special editions. Incidentally, for this price, there is also an exclusive cap, a pair of socks and a new laptop sleeve.
