Miops presents the compact Slider+ for time-lapse recordings, among other things

Sliders are almost part of the basic equipment for time-lapse and videographers, as they can automatically carry out tracking shots in the finest steps. However, sliders are associated with a very high financial outlay and require some know-how when recording.

The manufacturer Miops wants to remedy this with the Slider +. This can be easily programmed using a handy app on the smartphone and also works with a large number of cameras.

Sliders have been a technical aid for a number of years to bring camera movements into time-lapse recordings and short video drives can also be implemented with the aid.

While simple sliders only take care of the movement of the camera in time-lapse recordings, more complex models even trigger the individual recordings so that the movement and the recording are precisely matched.

The Slider + from Miops is an easy-to-use and very mobile accessory. The reason for this is the ability to control it with the free smartphone app and its low weight of around 1.4 kilograms. The Slider + is compatible with a large number of different cameras, these are connected to the Slider + via connection cables.

However, the cables are not included in the scope of delivery of the Slider + and are not required for using the Slider + for video recordings, but for time-lapse recordings or focus series. In both cases, the slider takes over the triggering of the camera. Information on which cameras are compatible can be found on the Rollei website (see related links).

The electronics and the drive (control technology, battery, motor, etc.) are located in the housing on top of the slider, the cable to the camera is also connected there). Other functions, such as B. a rotary movement are not hidden in the box.

The Miops Slider + can be loaded with up to 7 kg. It has an integrated power supply in the form of a lithium-ion battery with 2,900 mA / h. The manufacturer states that it can achieve an operating time of five to six hours.

The Slider + is 40 centimeters long and 30 centimeters are available to photographers and videographers as a range of motion. The movement speed is 100 centimeters per minute with a step resolution of about 1.14 micrometers so that the Slider + can also be used for focus exposure series with small focus changes.

The Miops Slider + is available from specialist retailers for just under 400 euros. A sturdy transport bag is included in the scope of delivery. Rollei has taken over the German sales of the Slider + and other Miops products.
